Number of Internet Users Witnesses Promising Increase in Last One Year

Imagine a life without internet banking, online shopping, online forum discussions, Facebook, Twitter etc. It would be a nightmare for most of us, considering the fact that mobile broadband services have made internet surfing available anywhere and at anytime.

However, the latest report from European Commission on the internet usage in the continent suggests that almost one third of the European population is still completely deprived of internet usage.

The people who do not go online are either the elderly who are not interested in it or those who do not have enough financial resources to support a connection. The report also said that the situation has improved from last year when the percentage of people who did not use the internet was around 40%. .

These statistics show that despite the fact that Information Technology is one of the sectors that was least hit by recession and holds huge potential for creating employment in several sectors, a lot still needs to be done by European governments to foster sustainable development of this sector.

According to Viviane Reding, EU Commissioner for Information Society and Media, the need of the hour is for governments to show some leadership and take collective measures to break down barriers in the digital communications sector.

Why is providing access to the mobile broadband such a big deal? A look at a dedicated mobile broadband website can answer questions and allay any fears about using the mobile internet and will have the bonus of offering good deals such as a mobile broadband free laptop to give ease of access when you sign up to the service of an internet provider.
